Courses and Training 2008
The Willesley Equine Clinic runs a number of courses throughout the year, including lecture series and 1st aid courses for clients, BEVA approved CPD courses for veterinary surgeons and equine technicians, and NVQ training courses for veterinary nurses.
CLIENT COURSES
EQUINE FIRST AID
Due to popular demand we will be running our first aid courses in 2008. These courses involve both theory and practical sessions and have been heavily supported over the past couple of years. This year we are also introducing an Advanced Course that is open to anyone however we do suggest that you have already attended one of the basic courses.
Dates:
- Basic First Aid course: 29th February 2008
- Advanced First Aid Course: 14th March 2008
Prices:
- Basic course: £75/person
- Advanced course: £75/person
If you sign up for the basic and advanced course this time round then you will receive a discount of 10% on the total cost i.e. total cost being £135 (A light lunch is included in the price).
Subjects to be covered are:
Basic Course: wounds, allergic reactions, choke, severe lameness, colic, and many more.
Advanced course: nutrition, ophthalmology, fractures, advanced wound management, tumours, hernias and ruptures.
Numbers on the course are limited so you get as much as possible out of the sessions, so book early to avoid disappointment.

AI TECHNICIANS COURSE
The 2008 AI Technicians course is being run in association with BEVA on the 9th and 10th of February 2008. The course is not only relevant for those people wanting to inseminate mares but also those who are interested in stallion and stud management.
